Privacy Policy

Effective 30 September 2026. This policy covers this website, www.blind.training. The ATI Trainer Portal at atitrainerportal.com has its own privacy policy, shown inside the portal.

Who we are

Access Technology Institute (ATI), run by CathyAnne Murtha, prepares and certifies professionals who teach access technology. Questions about this policy go to us through the contact form.

What we collect, and why

The contact form

Your name, email address and message, and, if you give them, your phone number, what describes you, the subject, and how you heard about us. We use them only to read and answer your message. Your message is kept in our records and emailed to CathyAnne.

ATI News

Your email address and, if you give it, your name. We use them only to send ATI News. You are added only after you confirm by the link we email you, and every message has an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we send you no more ATI News.

Our server's records

Like every website, our server records the address your connection came from, your browser's description of itself, the pages asked for, and when. We use these records only to keep the site secure and working, and they are deleted after about a month.

What we do not do

Your accessibility settings

The background, text size and focus indicator you choose on the Accessibility page are kept only in your own browser. They are never sent to us.

Who handles it for us

The site, the contact messages and the mailing list are kept on our own server, hosted by ScalaHosting in the United States, and email is sent from our own mail server there. Connections to this site are encrypted.

How long we keep it

Contact messages are kept as long as we need them to answer you and for our records. Mailing list addresses are kept while you are subscribed; an unsubscribed address is kept only so that we never mail it again. Ask us at any time to delete your information and we will.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, through the contact form. You can unsubscribe from ATI News at any time on the ATI News page or by the link in any message.

Children

This site is for professionals and adults seeking training. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with its date.
