ATI Certified Trainer Rules

ATI Certified Trainer is a professional designation awarded by ATI to trainers who complete ATI’s certification program and agree to uphold these rules. Certification is a credential, not an employment relationship or endorsement of individual services. ATI does not supervise day-to-day work and does not assume responsibility for services provided by certified trainers.

What certification means

ATI Certified Trainer indicates that a trainer has completed ATI’s certification requirements and demonstrated competency in the skills and instructional methods covered by ATI at the time certification is granted.

Certification reflects status at the time it is awarded. It does not guarantee outcomes, employment, or continued access to ATI services.

Certification status and duration ATI Certified Trainer status remains valid unless:

  • ATI revokes certification for cause
  • The trainer voluntarily relinquishes certification
  • ATI ceases operations

Certification itself does not automatically expire on a fixed calendar date unless ATI formally institutes recertification requirements in the future.

Continuing education services

ATI provides continuing education services to ATI Certified Trainers as part of its professional development mission. These services currently include complimentary access to the Access Technology Trainers Forum, including discussion spaces, live sessions, and shared resources.

Continuing education services are provided as long as ATI continues to offer them. They may change, be modified, or end at ATI’s discretion.

Continuing education services may end if:

  • ATI discontinues continuing education offerings
  • ATI closes operations
  • A trainer loses access due to serious policy violations in ATI spaces

Loss of continuing education access does not automatically revoke ATI Certified Trainer status, unless the loss is tied to conduct that independently warrants revocation under these rules.

Professional conduct

ATI Certified Trainers represent themselves and the credential accurately. You agree to;

  • Conduct yourself professionally in ATI spaces, including the forum, Discord, Zoom sessions, and ATI-sponsored events
  • Address ideas, methods, and outcomes without personal attacks
  • Avoid behavior that would reasonably undermine trust in the credential

Use of the ATI name and credential

You may use the title “ATI Certified Trainer” only while certification is active and in good standing. You agree to:

  • Use the credential exactly as written
  • Avoid implying ATI endorsement of your business, pricing, services, or outcomes
  • Avoid suggesting ATI supervision, employment, or guarantees
  • Remove the credential from all materials if certification is suspended or revoked

Advertising and claims.

ATI Certified Trainers may describe their services but must do so honestly. You agree to
Represent qualifications and experience accurately
Avoid guaranteed results or misleading claims
Disclose material relationships when promoting products or services

Confidentiality and student privacy

ATI Certified Trainers often work with sensitive information. You agree to:

  • Protect student and client privacy
  • Avoid posting identifying information in ATI spaces
  • Share case examples only in de-identified form unless explicit permission is granted

Sharing, attribution, and intellectual property

ATI encourages professional sharing with proper attribution. You agree to:

  • Credit creators when sharing materials not your own
  • Avoid distributing copyrighted or licensed materials without rights
  • Follow ATI textbook licensing rules where applicable

Review, suspension, and revocation

ATI may review credible reports of misuse of the credential or violations of these rules.

  • Certification may be suspended or revoked if a trainer
  • Misrepresents ATI or the credential
  • Uses the credential while ineligible
  • Violates confidentiality or intellectual property expectations
  • Engages in conduct that materially undermines the credibility of the credential

Reinstatement

Reinstatement after suspension or revocation is not guaranteed. ATI may require corrective action, additional training, or re-evaluation.

No endorsement; independent services

ATI Certified Trainers are independent professionals. ATI does not employ, supervise, insure, or guarantee the work of certified trainers. All service relationships are solely between the trainer and their clients or employers.
